Clare Lallow’s was established in 1867 and has an unrivalled tradition of boat building, restoration, wood working and service. The company combines traditional techniques and craftsmanship with modern materials and technology to provide a wide range of services on all types of boats. In addition to being specialists in the restoration of classic wooden boats such as Ted Heath’s Morning Cloud (now ‘Opposition’) and a sister ship, Easy Glider, we have the facilities and craftsmen available for all types of GRP and gel- peeling work. With our dedicated painting, rigging, fabricating and engineering departments, we can offer a complete service to yachtsmen. We offer a very competitive scrubbing service. We can haul out and store vessels on our own sites and we can use our cherry -picker for mast work. Our fuel berth is open seven days a week and we offer a round the clock repair service during major sailing events.

Cowes Harbour Services Boatyard
Cowes Harbour, Kingston Boatyard is one of the largest yards on the River Medina with extensive facilities accommodating up to 150 boats from easily trailered craft to yachts and motorboats up to 40 tonnes. The popular Boatyard serves boat users from the mainland and Isle of Wight. We offer a full range of boat maintenance services and have a number of preferred sub-contractors that can also be involved in the care of your boat. Alternatively, you are welcome to work on your own vessel or contract independent companies, subject to site conditions. Facilities and services include: 40 tonne all-tide boat hoist; storage and dry sailing; wet blasting and antifoul removal; antifouling and anodes; hull cleaning and polishing; mast stepping and crane services; collection and delivery of vessels arranged; long stay guardianage; tailored marine services; project management; DIY maintenance; chandlery; water and electricity; secure site with CCTV coverage.

Richardsons Yacht Services
Established in 1988 Richardsons Yacht Services has retained its status as a local family run business building and servicing yachts, along with its busy chandleries, based within Island Harbour on the river Medina and now also at Thetis Wharf in Cowes. This enables them to offer a more efficient service while maintaining the same high class of work carried out by their team of skilled craftsmen. Richardsons believe they offer a unique ‘one-stop’ facility for all craft to 50 tons in Island Harbour and 4 tons in Cowes. Both chandleries are open Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm and in the main season they open on Sundays too. They carry a large amount of stock from individual fastenings to antifouls, anodes, batteries, blocks, filters and oils, Calor, plumbing, etc, etc, etc……The range is too vast to list every item! They are Agents for Beta Marine, Vetus, Tohatsu, ePropulsion, Lewmar Gold Installer. They even have a small grocery section in their Island Harbour branch. Richardsons also took over Isle of Wight Plastics in 2022, they carry a large range of Perspex, Polycarbonate sheets and Hygienic Wall Boarding in their Island Harbour branch.
